SustainABuild Conference | Calgary

June 2, 2011 | 2:15 – 3:45pm
BMO Centre

Net Zero Emissions: The Dream is Still Alive

Is it possible to build a multi-tenant office building that produces zero carbon emissions? The answer is yes according to the "Net Zero Co2urt" experiment. That was in St Louis where HOK designers and daylighting and energy consultants at the Weidt Group designed and modeled an affordable, 170,000-square-foot office building that would produce zero carbon emissions. But can it be done in Calgary? What strategies can be implemented? What incentive programs should be in place? Is there a premium on capital costs? What’s the payback period? Join HOK's Veronica Gillies, VP|Regional Leader in Vancouver and Gerry Faubert, VP| Director of Integrated Design as they participate in a panel discussion to argue the case based on a comparison between Calgary and St. Louis.
